Ashley: Pageant Headshots

Ashley is absolutely beautiful! I was thrilled when she asked me to do her upcoming pageant headshots. For people who don't know me, pageants have been a part of my life for a long time, so whenever I can be involved with one I am thrilled. I was so excited to hear EVERYTHING about the pageant.

We meet on a typical windy Maine day and just about froze, well actually she froze, I was bundled up in my winter coat and had mittens on. Ashley was a true natural in front of the camera... I did not have to give her much direction at all. She worked it. Ashley competed her pageant last Saturday and SHE WON! yay! (I was not surprised at all.)  :)

Congratulations Ashley on becoming Miss Northeast Maine 2012!

Amy and Cameron

There is nothing I love more than photographing couples! The bond that couples have is so individual that it is so easy for me to fall in love with each couple I photograph.

A little background: Amy and I have been great friends since I first started working for The Maine Campus. She was the photo editor and I was the free lance photographer. We became instant friends on a photo assignment in Portland, ME where we spent the night photographing governor election parties. We couldn't stop talking on the way to Portland and back to campus. It was simply amazing. Shortly after this I became Amy's Asst. Photo Editor at the newspaper and then Amy left me last spring to continue her life outside of UMaine, leaving me as the Photo Editor.

The day Amy met Cameron the world changed completely! Amy had finally found that special someone that would change her life for the better. Every time she called and told me stories about the two of them, it was like scenes from a movie. Absolutely perfect.

Amy and Cameron traveled to Orono for a weekend away and I had the opportunity to see just how in LOVE they are! Holy! Those movie scenes I was talking about above, our photo session could have been just that. It was so great to see Amy happy and to meet Cameron for the first time. Laughing was contagious between the three of us!  I didn't even care that the photo session was on one of the coldest days and even though they were both cold, I wanted to continue to snap away.

Samantha: Valentine's Day

Phew! I am back to blogging and catching up with my most recent photo sessions. I have had a busy start to my semester at UMaine and will try my best to make sure my blogging doesn't get put on the back burner again! Thanks for being patient!

Who wouldn't want to get sweet kisses from this little girl!? I have had the privilege of photographing Samantha since she was just a few days old and in just a little over a month she will be a year old! Her mom and I are always chatting about different photo ideas and we both loved the idea of a kissing booth. Samantha is full of energy and loved crawling around and putting things in her mouth... especially a twizzler. Good thing it was red to match! Prior to the kissing booth we put her into her Daddy's work boots and she stood up on her own for the first time. Talk about a perfect moment! She was thrilled and clapped and smiled the whole time!

Favorite Things:
Her cute little giggle when she was standing by herself
Her Daddy handed his hat to her and she would just rip it right off
Putting a huge white decorative heart into her mouth
The reapplication of kisses cause she was loving the soft white fabric she was on
