The Austin Family

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to photograph the Austin Family. This family is so photogenic! Even the dog Pinot was photogenic and I have to admit was absolutely adorable. This family was so much fun to photograph. We started at their home in Bangor and then decided to move onto another location. Just as we were leaving their home it started to rain... we waited out the downpour for a good 20 minutes and then the sky opened up and was gorgeous. The colors of the fall leaves brightened and the sun started to shine. The photos came out absolutely gorgeous. Ellen, the mom, is also and up and coming author so we did some beautiful head shots too! Thank you Austin family for being SO wonderful!

Kayla

The story behind these photos is pretty simple. I had a plan to go over to a friend's house to teach her how to use her DSLR and Kayla was going to be the model. I started snapping away and came out with beautiful images of Kayla. She is beautiful inside and out and I am thrilled with the way these photos truly captured her.

Favorite things about this shoot:
  • My friend's battery to her camera died before she could take 15 photos... fail.
  • We tried hikin' it into the back woods but it turned out to be to marshy and wasn't pretty at all.
  • My friend's landlord was watching us in the backyard as he worked on building a deck.
  • "I can laugh on demand guys." - Kayla

The Way Family

The Way family are special in so many ways! I spent a late fall morning at their home in Waterville and at Colby College. The stairways and the architecture provided wonderful places to capture this family in action. This family was a blast to work with and their photos truly show how wonderful they are. The day was filled with smiles and laughter, it was truly a wonderful trip.

Favorite moments of this shoot
  • The little girl loves having her photo taken... not so much her big brother. Their parents had to turn around so they could have their photos taken together.
  • "I've got a coconut!"- it was actually an acorn
  • After the shoot was over, I was able to help Heather (the Mom) learn how to use her camera better so she can snap photos of her kids doing what they do best everyday.
  • "Ya, Josh and I don't want to see those pictures (referring to the ones of just them) unless their good. For some reason we just don't take good pictures together." -Heather

The Leavitt Family

When I first met the Leavitt girls many years ago, I couldn't imagine they would grow up to the beautiful girls they are so fast. We have known each other for years and now the oldest is in high school... its so hard for me to believe they are all grown up. I had a great day with one of my favorite past teachers, Mrs. Leavitt and her girls. I made the trip up to Limestone, ME and captured them in their true nature on a sunny fall day. I should mention they are farm girls but with sass.
Since, I have not visited Limestone very much, there Mom took the role of finding locations. The first thing the girls told me when I got there was, "Mom has mapped out the best places!" They were so excited and so was I. We grabbed our stuff and jumped in the car. Our first stop was at their grandparents home then we continued on to the other locations. You can say, I got the grand tour of Limestone, I loved it! These pictures capture their true personalities.

Sayings that stood out to me:
  • "Gracie, the sunglasses have got to go"
  • "Kate, smile!"
  • "We are working it just like Kim Kardashian"- Faith
  • "Oh my gosh, there better not be a mouse in here!"- Mrs. Leavitt
The day ended with getting slush puppies at the local store and having a great catch up conversation with Mrs. Leavitt about life and college. I couldn't have asked for a better fall day in the County.

Sarah and Ben's Wedding

I had the opportunity to see a new family friend get married to her college sweetheart. Sarah and Ben are an adorable loving couple who show what true love is. (I also have to mention I look up to Sarah because she is an amazing eye doctor and I hope to have the same profession as her someday.)
As a guest and friend, I was able to snap some shots of Ben and his "men" getting ready and the cocktail hour. This wedding was a true blast and was absolutely beautiful. Did I mention how awesome Sarah and her family are? Sarah made her own bird cage veil and basically every detail of the wedding was crafting by her family! I hope you enjoy these few snapshots!

Sarah and Ben had a photo booth with lots of props for the guests to use during the cocktail hour!
So fun!

Wedding!

This was not my first photo shoot with Terence and Annette, I did their engagement shoot months prior to the wedding.

Terence and Annette... I have not seen a couple in love the way they are in. They do all the cliche things that couples do in movies. Not only do they do these but they are fabulous dancers - their first dance was amazing! I had the honor of spending the day with this lovely couple in September to capture their special day. I met with Annette and her bridesmaids in the early afternoon in downtown Orono where their make up was applied and lots of hair spray was used (Of course, with all the dancing going in, the hair had to stay)! Tears of happiness were shed early on but the make up stayed perfect. Terence and Annette had their ceremony and reception at the place where they dance their nights away at- The Back Door Dance Studio, in Eddington, Maine. The ceremony was celebrated with their closest family and friends and the night went without a glitch.

I have included a their engagement session and their wedding photos

After receiving their photos I got this message from Terence, "Got the wedding photo today and they are GREAT!!!! Thanks very much for making our day very special!!!!!!"

Moments like this make me love that I am able to share my passion and talent with such great people!

Chelsea: Senior

I will apologize in advance. A lot of these posts for a little while will be over photos over the past few months. I want you all to see what I have been keeping busy with. I promise I will catch up really soon and you won't be seeing pictures from two months ago!

The end of the summer was approaching and I was able to take senior photos for a PIHS senior. This senior is just kinda special. ;) She was a fellow basketball teammate and is still a friend. On and off the court, or soccer field anyone will say Chelsea brings the sass with her. She is a devoted athlete and student and without her even knowing she is natural in front of the camera. I hope her senior year continues to be fabulous and she rocks the socks off all the fans watching her compete in athletics this year!
